Joe Igbokwe Slams DJ Switch Over Her Reaction to Buhari’s Death

APC chieftain Joe Igbokwe has publicly condemned Nigerian disc jockey DJ Switch for her remarks following the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Taking to social media, DJ Switch real name Obianuju Catherine Udeh reacted to Buhari’s passing with a sharp comment on her Instagram page:

‘’Wow! The sweet reality of inevitability. RIP MF. One down.”

She later shared a video reaffirming her stance, claiming that Buhari “achieved nothing” during his time in office and expressing no remorse over his demise.

Joe Igbokwe took issue with the tone and content of her statements, criticizing what he saw as a lack of respect and empathy.

DJ Switch rose to prominence in 2020 during the #EndSARS protest, when she live-streamed events from the Lekki Toll Gate as security forces reportedly opened fire on protesters a moment that drew global attention.

In other news, Nigerian activist Omoyele Sowore has issued a scathing response to the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari, who died on July 13 at a London clinic, was remembered by Sowore not with praise, but with strong criticism.

In his reaction, Sowore highlighted what he described as grave injustices and failings associated with Buhari’s leadership. He emphasized that individuals who ruled with tyranny should not be mourned, asserting that the former president’s legacy was marked by oppression and hardship rather than progress.

His words …

“Muhammadu Buhari slaughtered hundreds of Shiites, men, women, and even children.

He ordered soldiers of the Nigerian Army to open fire on peaceful #EndSARS protesters waving the Nigerian flag.

He “disappeared” Dadiyata.

He ordered the massacre of young Southeasterners whom he branded IPOB.

He disobeyed court orders, jailed critics arbitrarily, destroyed the economy, and ruined everything he touched.

And now, because he’s dead, some people with selective memory want us to mourn or worship him?

Shameful.

NO, we do not mourn tyrants. We remember their victims.

NO, We do not mourn tyrants. We remember their victims. @muhammadubuhari Had No Soul”
