Singer Iyanya has responded to allegations from a notorious Instagram blog claiming his former manager, Ubi Franklin, stole a watch from a luxury jeweler at Davido’s wedding.
The report was shared by an Instagram user, Bisibalo.
“UBI FRANKLIN reportedly STOLE A WATCH FROM BENNY THE JEWELER!! they kept asking him he said he had no idea about it. Cutie isn’t lying about that gist. He reportedly asked to buy a watch from Benny. When he was asked about the watch bro said he had given it to Benny’s assistant. They couldn’t find the watch anywhere and he kept insisting he had to no idea where it was Benny threatened to involve police and immigration,all of a sudden bro said he found it in his pocket and he didn’t know how it got there. Now they are doing damage control cause someone already informed Cutie about it and cutie has been posting. Even Benny commented that he didn’t steal a watch,he bought a watch from him Davido doesn’t want the gist to cast cause it is quite embarrassing I would have believed it was just a rumor but I just got off a call y’all Bro moved that watch!! Damn”
Debunking the story, Iyanya wrote:
“This is a Big lie.
The jeweler has come out to deny this, it was a gist fabricated to tarnish Ubi’s name by those who don’t like him with that circle.
I will not let my brother be dragged for nothing.”
