Doyin, a reality celebrity, says that asking for a DNA test should not cause any problems between partners, even if the request is painful.
Cases of paternity fraud have been routinely reported online, and many netizens have advocated for the test to be performed on all children soon after birth.
Many people have questioned whether asking for a DNA test from one’s partner is the right thing to do.
Doyin, speaking on the matter via Instagram, stated that it is not inappropriate for a partner to request a DNA test due to the current increase in Paternity fraud in the country.
She said:
“It’s not a bad thing for your partner to request for DNA test. If he wants to take care of a child that isn’t his, let it be his decision to do that intentionally not because he thinks he’s the father. The rate of paternity fraud is too high for you to think emotionally if your partner asks for a DNA test. It’s a painful request but it’s understandable.”
