“It Will Come to Your Doorsteps”- Rita Edochie Warns Leaders Over Rising Insecurity, Shares Solutions

• Rita Edochie took to Instagram to advise community leaders, particularly in Igboland, to “properly arm their youths” so they can confront and destroy terrorists and bandits in their communities and forests.

Veteran actress Rita Edochie has taken to Instagram to offer controversial advice to community leaders on tackling rampant insecurity, kidnapping, and killing across the country.

Edochie shared a photo of the leader of the secessionist group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu (who has been sentenced to life imprisonment after being convicted of terrorism), with a caption suggesting Kanu had previously warned that terrorists were widespread but was ignored.

Suggesting a direct action plan to end the terror, Rita Edochie urged community leaders, particularly in Igboland, to identify and arm the strongest people in their communities to confront the criminals.

She wrote in her post titled, “MY HUMBLE OPINION…”:

“BEFORE PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP’S ARRIVAL , NDI IGWE , COMMUNITY LEADERS NA ANI IGBO BIKONU DO THIS AND KNOW PEACE… BIKONU , LET EVERY COMMUNITY PROPERLY ARM THEIR YOUTHS , THE ONES THAT CAN THOUGH , ASK THEM TO GET INTO THEIR BUSHES AND FORRESTS , AND SEE THESE KIDNAPPINGS STOP OVERNIGHT.”

Edochie argued that terrorists and bandits are emboldened simply because they are armed, adding that in the past, they were protected by corrupt government officials, but that many are now “on their own”.

She emphasized that local youths are better equipped to defend their communities:

“THE YOUTHS OF EVERY COMMUNITY KNOW THE TERRAIN MORE THAN THE FOREIGN ELEMENTS AND CAN EASILY AMBUSH AND DESTROY THEM… THE YOUTHS ARE IN A BETTER POSITION TO DEFEND THEIR COMMUNITIES IF ONLY THE LEADERS , WILL STOP BEING COMPROMISED .”

The actress warned of the consequences of inaction, concluding: “IF YOU DON’T START THIS NOW , IT’S COMING TO YOUR DOORSTEPS .”
