Famous Tanzanian singer Juma Jux has shared the romantic origin story of his relationship with his wife, Priscilla Ojo, revealing that her celebrity status was a complete surprise to him when they first met.
The couple’s journey began in Rwanda, where Juma Jux first spotted Priscilla while she was with her friend, Chioma Goodhair, who acted as their matchmaker.
Juma Jux recalled that his first encounter with Priscilla was entirely unexpected.
“When I first met her in Rwanda, I didn’t know she was a celebrity. I just saw her with Chioma… and I thought, wow, this girl, she’s beautiful. We started talking, and it was just amazing. Even after the basketball game, she never revealed she was famous,” he shared.
Despite being a well-known Nigerian influencer and the daughter of Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo, Priscilla kept her profile low during their initial interactions.
Juma Jux admitted that while he noticed her large social media following, he didn’t grasp the extent of her fame until much later: “I saw her followers and thought, okay, she’s popular, but I didn’t know she was this big”.
The singer emphasized that their bond developed naturally, far away from the spotlight of their respective careers. After their initial meeting, the pair traveled to Zanzibar, where their connection deepened into what Juma Jux describes as a life-changing love.
“Honestly, meeting Priscilla was love at first sight. I just knew she was the one,” he added.
