Nollywood actor Benedict Johnson recently appeared at the church of Jerry Eze, where he publicly shared testimonies about what he described as God’s faithfulness to him and his family.
During his address, the actor recounted a frightening health scare involving his second daughter, who had traveled from the United States to visit him in Nigeria. He explained that she initially complained of feeling unwell, prompting him to consult a doctor who prescribed medication. However, after taking the drugs for some time, her condition reportedly worsened. She began to express fears that something was seriously wrong, telling her father it felt as though her organs were shutting down.
At the time, Johnson was in Kano for work. He revealed that while away, he received numerous calls from his daughter as her health declined. After noticing about 40 missed calls, he eventually reached her, and she told him she felt she might not survive.
The actor said he immediately began praying and speaking scriptures over her, instructing her to repeat the declarations while he hurried back home. Once she was taken to the hospital, doctors diagnosed her with cerebral malaria and reportedly described her chances of recovery as uncertain.
Despite the medical outlook, Johnson said he remained steadfast in prayer. He recalled that one of the doctors even asked whether he was affiliated with NSPPD (New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations). According to him, the medical team warned that his daughter could experience seizures, slip into a coma, or face other severe complications, but he chose to hold on to his faith.
He further shared that he went to church to seek divine intervention and also received prayers from Pastor Jerry Eze. Eventually, he said, his daughter recovered and later returned to the United States to reunite with her mother.
In the same testimony, Johnson also reflected on a challenging period in his career. He revealed that he went five years without securing acting roles. However, after turning to prayer, he believes his career experienced a turnaround. He stated that he has since featured in 14 productions this year and is preparing to travel to Germany for another film project.
