“Irreplaceable Void”- Friend Shares Final Messages From Late Singer Ifunanya Nwangene

  • A friend of late Nigerian singer Ifunanya Nwangene shared their final chat and her last advice before her death from a snake bite in Abuja, highlighting the tragic circumstances surrounding her passing.

A friend of late Nigerian singer Ifunanya Nwangene has shared touching details of their last conversation before her tragic death.

The 26-year-old vocalist passed away on January 31, 2026, after being bitten by a snake in her Abuja residence.

Matthew Samson Abah, who identified himself as a friend on Facebook, described Ifunanya’s death as leaving an “irreplaceable void” in his heart. He also shared her final advice:

“A friend told me. If God puts a thought in your head, don’t hold back. I regret going to the morgue and seeing you embalmed.”

He recounted their last chat, in which he urged her to fumigate her room:

“Please call me when you can or I will call you anyways. I’m so sorry Ify. You need to fumigate your room. Ify, I’m still coming to check chats, please call me.”

Meanwhile, the AMEMUSO Choir provided further details surrounding her death. According to the choir’s Music Director, Sam Ezugwu, Ifunanya sent a message to a WhatsApp group at 10:13 a.m. on the day she was bitten, seeking help.

Investigators later found a medium-sized cobra in her room, another snake near her doormat, and a third snake in the nearby compound. She was pronounced dead at the Federal Medical Centre in Abuja.
