The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Amupitan, has dismissed allegations suggesting he is part of any plan to turn Nigeria into a one-party state.

Speaking during an interview with Reuben Abati on Arise TV, the INEC boss defended his actions regarding a recent judgment that has sparked public debate.

“Let me make it clear that I’m not part of any plan to turn Nigeria into a one-party state. If this judgment hadn’t come, would I have made such a decision on my own?” he said.

His remarks come amid growing concerns and speculation surrounding the commission’s recent decisions and their potential political implications.

The statement has since generated reactions from Nigerians, with some expressing reassurance while others continue to question the neutrality of the electoral body.

INEC has repeatedly maintained its commitment to upholding democratic principles and acting in accordance with the law.

The influencer had earlier shared her health status publicly, which quickly drew widespread attention and skepticism from some Nigerians online.

Subsequently, a woman named Miss Deborah Mbara accused Blessing CEO of manipulating her medical records. Mbara’s elder brother, Duke Chidi Nwafor, alleged that Blessing had accessed and altered Deborah’s cancer report to present it as her own.

Duke shared the document on Facebook, stating that their lawyers formally requested a public explanation and apology from Blessing CEO within twenty-four hours, warning that legal action would follow if she failed to comply.

During an Instagram live session with media personality Daddy Freeze, Blessing CEO challenged why the accuser had not personally come forward to substantiate the claim. She stated, “He who alleges must prove it. If someone says I forged their result, then they should come out and prove it. I just want to stay strong. Why isn’t the person making the claim coming forward?”

Duke Chidi Nwafor also participated in the live session, asserting that Blessing had contacted their lawyers to plead. Blessing CEO responded by affirming that she is ready to address the issue in court should the family present evidence.

“If your sister said she sent me her result, and you have all the necessary evidence, please let’s go to court.”
