Fido has come forward to apologise for past missteps, openly discussing the pressures of fame and his commitment to personal and professional growth.
In a heartfelt message, he admitted: “There’s no simple way to say this, so I’ll be direct. I made mistakes. Fame came into my life fast one moment I was dreaming about it, the next, I was living it. While everyone was watching me rise, I was still figuring out who I was becoming. Along the way, I said and did things I shouldn’t have. Ego, excitement, and inexperience influenced some of my choices. That isn’t the person I want to be, and it isn’t who I’m working to become.”
Addressing his supporters, Fido expressed: “To my fans who stream my music, stand by me, pray for me, and believe in me I am truly sorry. To the global Afrobeats community, the legends who paved the way, my colleagues, and anyone who felt let down by my words or actions I apologise sincerely.”
Reflecting on his journey, he shared: “Life presents moments where you can either let pride dictate your actions or take a step back to grow. I chose the latter. I chose to listen, to reflect, and to learn. Owning up to your mistakes takes strength, and retracing your steps requires maturity. I am committed to both.”
Fido added: “I am still learning and evolving, but I have taken these lessons to heart. The person stepping into this new chapter is more grounded, self-aware, and mindful of the platform I’ve been given. The music I create next will come from a place of honesty, gratitude, and depth.”
He also expressed gratitude toward those who held him accountable rather than condemning him, while understanding those who decided to step away. He concluded: “This is growth. This is maturity. This is me striving to do better. The journey continues.”
