Renowned businessman and socialite Obi Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, has stirred online discussions after reacting to people referring to him as “City Boy.”

The nickname recently gained attention following his appointment as the South-East Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, a group aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and actively supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election campaign. However, Obi Cubana offered a different explanation for the title.

In a video shared online, the entrepreneur linked the nickname to his ambitious real estate venture, Cubana Millennium City, currently under construction in Asaba, Delta State. While showcasing the ongoing development at the site, he disclosed that work on the housing estate began in December 2025 and is expected to be completed by April 2026.

Reacting to the buzz around his new moniker, he said, “What is happening? Everyone keeps calling me City Boy because I’m building the biggest city in Africa. I don’t have time to respond right now. When I’m ready, I will respond.”

Earlier, Obi Cubana had hinted at the intense attention he had been receiving in recent days. On Wednesday, January 24, he shared a video of himself on a phone call, revealing that his phone had been ringing incessantly.

“Phone buzzing non-stop!! What a week 🤔,” he wrote in the caption accompanying the Instagram post.
