The new Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has declared himself a king for all religions, vowing to serve every resident of Ibadan regardless of status or faith.

He made the pledge during a thanksgiving service at the Church of the Ascension, Ibadan, on Sunday, following his coronation.

Oba Ladoja was officially crowned as the 44th Olubadan on Friday by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde at Mapo Hall.

The monarch assured the people of his commitment to the development, peace, and progress of Ibadan.


‎‎“We are all governing Ibadan. I’m just the coordinator. You people are the small Olubadan; I’m the big Olubadan.

‎”Ibadan will be great by God’s grace with your support. I’m now king of all religions. Ibadan is a fertile land; it shall continue to be well with Ibadan.

‎“I’m Olubadan for all, and the success of my reign will not be mine alone but that of the Olubadan-in-Council and the entire people of Ibadanland,” he said.

In other news….. Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel) and senior pastor of Faith Tabernacle, turned 71 on Saturday, September 27, sparking widespread celebration among his followers and family.

Gospel artiste Tope Alabi joined many well-wishers in honouring the renowned cleric. Posting a photo of Oyedepo on her verified Instagram page, Alabi expressed heartfelt gratitude for his spiritual guidance and described him as a father figure.

In her message, the singer thanked Oyedepo for his teachings on integrity and prayed for renewed strength as he continues his ministry.

“Happy birthday to our beloved father in the faith,” she wrote. “Your life is a powerful testimony of unwavering faith. We appreciate the lessons you share and the clarity of your spiritual leadership. On behalf of my family and ministry, we pray for fresh strength and grace as you advance the Gospel in this new year. We love you dearly, Daddy.”

The revered preacher’s milestone follows his grand 70th birthday celebration in 2024, which was attended by prominent figures including Pastor Enoch Adeboye and former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
