‘If They Can’t Manage, Divide The Country’-Odumeje Calls for Tinubu’s Resignation

  • Odumeje issued a fierce critique of the Nigerian leadership, stating that if President Bola Tinubu and the governors cannot manage the nation, the country should be divided.
  • He accused the political class of busy embezzling public funds while citizens struggle with unemployment, insecurity, and the killing of Christians.
  • Odumeje also criticized politicians for moving around with excessive security (up to 50 officers), arguing that such large details are only warranted if the leaders have successfully transformed Nigeria into a place like Dubai.

Prophet Odumeje has released a fiery statement criticizing the current state of governance in Nigeria and challenging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the state governors. He suggested that if the current leadership is incapable of managing the nation, the country should be divided.

Odumeje accused the political class of widespread corruption while citizens face acute hardship and insecurity.

Accusations of Corruption and Neglect

The prophet asserted that leaders are prioritizing personal gain over the well-being of the populace:

“Tinubu and the governors are busy emb£zzling public funds while Nigerians are sûffering. There are no jobs, no security, and Christians are being k!ll£d daily, yet politicians move around with up to 50 security officers.”

He painted a bleak picture of the nation, citing lack of employment, high insecurity, and targeted violence against Christians as key failures of the administration.

Call for Division and Youth Action

Odumeje explicitly called for the division of the country if effective governance cannot be achieved:

“If those in charge cannot manage this country they call ‘One Nigeria,’ then the country should be divided.”

He also urged young Nigerians to become more engaged and aware of the political realities:

“Nigerian youths need to wake up.”

Security Detail Criticism

Finally, the prophet ridiculed the excessive security details assigned to politicians, arguing that such protection is only justified if the leaders have significantly improved the country’s standard of living:

“Having 50 security officers following one politician only makes sense when that politician has transformed Nigeria into a place like Dubai. Only then will people willingly protect such a leader.”

Odumeje’s statement adds to the growing public pressure on the Tinubu administration to tackle the severe economic and security challenges facing Nigeria.
