Timaya, a veteran Nigerian artist, has been candid about his dating habits. He has given the reason why he doesn’t now have a Nigerian girlfriend and has shown reluctance to date Nigerian men if he were a woman.
The artist went into great detail about his dating preferences in an interview with Beat 99.9 FM.
Timaya stated in the interview that he doesn’t find much thrill in dating someone from the same background, upbringing, or environment, which is why he avoids relationships with Nigerians.
The Bayelsa-born artist vividly compared a police officer and a burglar, comparing such ties to a cancerous dynamic.
The artist made it clear that although he has nothing against Nigerian guys, he believes that too much background similarity between the two partners would take the spark out of a love relationship.
