- Pastor David Ibiyeomie has called for an end to attacks on Christians, urging vigilance and self-defense, while his remarks continue to spark mixed reactions online.
- The cleric went further to stress the need for self-awareness and preparedness, especially in situations where government protection may be lacking.

The founder of Salvation Ministries, David Ibiyeomie, has sparked reactions following comments addressing insecurity and attacks on Christians in Nigeria.
Speaking during a sermon, the cleric called for an end to violence against Christians, urging believers to become more conscious of their safety and surroundings.
According to him:
“Killing of Christians must stop in Nigeria. Christians need to wake up. Israel is a small nation and they didn’t allow Arabs to wipe them out.”
Pastor Ibiyeomie went further to stress the need for self-awareness and preparedness, especially in situations where government protection may be lacking.
“If Government can’t defend you, defend yourself. Get yourself a walking stick.”
His remarks have since generated mixed reactions online, with some supporting his call for vigilance and others expressing concern over the interpretation of self-defense in such contexts.
