“I Won’t Let Buccaneers and Vampires Take Over”- Wike Vows to Stay in PDP

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has vowed to remain in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring he will not abandon the party to what he described as “Buccaneers and Vampires.”

Speaking during his monthly media chat in Abuja on Monday, Wike said his continued presence in the PDP is to prevent such elements from taking over and emerging as the party’s presidential flag bearer.

He stressed that he will stay in the party until the “right thing” is done.

Wike said: “Now what is the problem in PDP, if you are saying that you are an opposition party, are you not supposed to be the one to put yourself in order and fight the ruling party?

“What is happening in PDP today, have I not predicted it before now?

I will not leave the PDP until the right thing is done.

“I will not leave this party which I have done everything for, for the Buccaneers and Vampires.

“If I had left the party, the Buccaneers and Vampires would have taken over the party.”

Meanwhile GISTLOVER earlier reported that FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has said it is unrealistic to expect any government, including President Tinubu’s administration, to solve all of Abuja’s problems.

Speaking at a media parley in Abuja, Wike emphasized that while not every issue can be addressed at once, efforts are being made to improve residents’ lives.

He also clarified that only major, capital-intensive projects are formally commissioned.

“I will not say here that every problem has been solved,” Wike said. All problems cannot be solved, even if this government stays for 20 years; no government can solve all problems.

“But government is solving problems that at least will help to improve the lives of people,” he added.

“It’s not realistic to commission every single project,” he said. “We take what we think are major, capital-intensive projects, ones where billions of naira have been spent, and showcase those. But for smaller projects, do we really need to commission everything?”
