Nigerian politician Ned Nwoko has disclosed that he was invited to participate in a tour of the widely recognized Titanic Shipwreck.
The millionaire made the announcement on Friday, June 23, while mourning the death of his friend and partner, Hamish Harding, who was a passenger in the Titan submarine.
Mr Harding, a British businessman, explorer, and multiple Guinness World Record holder, including one for the greatest time spent reaching the deepest section of the ocean on a single dive, was among the five people killed aboard the imploding submersible.
The lawmaker turned to his verified Instagram account to explain why, despite the invitation, he was unable to attend the Titanic excursion.
He also eulogized Mr. Harding while remembering events they had shared, according to Premium Times.
Nwoko said he was heartbroken by the loss and described Harding as a man who loved adventures and challenges, The Cable reported.
His tribute read, “I have lost a dear friend and business partner. Captain Hamish Harding.” “He also invited me on his space shuttle last year and this very Titan ill-fated adventure, but I was tied down with national duties.
“Above all, he was a partner in the various pieces of research into eradicating malaria in Africa project.”
