Nollywood actor Daniel Etim Effiong has come under criticism following remarks he made during a recent podcast interview.

The father of three made the comments while appearing on the podcast Mansplanation, where he admitted that being married does not stop him from occasionally feeling attracted to other people. He clarified, however, that such attraction does not automatically translate into love or lust.

According to the actor, love can be expressed in many different ways. He explained that being “in love” with someone is not necessarily the same as simply loving them.

During the discussion, Effiong also spoke about his relationship with his wife, Toyosi Effiong. He described their marriage as a form of partnership, comparing it to a business or joint venture built on shared goals.

He said both he and his wife consciously chose to create a family together. At one point in the conversation, the podcast host pointed out that their type of partnership is still rooted in love.

The actor’s remarks sparked mixed reactions online. While some fans questioned why the couple often discuss their relationship publicly, others wondered whether Effiong is genuinely in love with his wife.

A number of commenters also suggested that certain aspects of a marriage should remain private rather than being repeatedly discussed on podcasts. Others argued that constant public conversations about relationships could potentially harm marriages.
