“I Sent ₦5,000 and Got Blocked”- Lady Scammed During TikTok Livestream Giveaway

A TikTok user has reported losing ₦5,000 after being scammed during a livestream that claimed to be giving away cash prizes.

According to the victim, the livestreamers promised giveaways of ₦100,000 and ₦200,000 to viewers. Some participants shared their account details, but she, being new, was unaware of how the scam operated.

The livestreamers then told viewers that anyone who sent ₦5,000 would receive a surprise with a larger amount. She sent her money but was immediately blocked after the payment.

“Some viewers dropped their account numbers on the livestream and were immediately blocked without her knowing because she was a newcomer… She sent her ₦5,000, but was blocked immediately after the payment,” she explained.
