I Rejected ₦120M House Gift, ₦20M Birthday Bash – Peter Obi

Former Anambra Governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has revealed he turned down a ₦120 million house gift on his birthday. Instead, he directed the funds to construct classrooms in Agulu, Ekwulobia, and Abatete.

Obi also declined a ₦20 million birthday party, choosing to donate 200 desktop computers to schools in Anambra State. Known for his modest lifestyle, Obi once said he owned only one wristwatch and two pairs of black shoes.

In other news…. Nigerian social media users are buzzing over a recent post by actor Gideon Okeke, who openly criticized fellow actor Jim Iyke for his unconventional birthday message to actress Kate Henshaw.

Jim Iyke had shared a birthday tribute to Kate that many interpreted as sarcastic and disrespectful. While some fans defended the message as light-hearted and humorous, others found it inappropriate.

Gideon Okeke, however, did not take it lightly. In a follow-up post, he condemned Jim’s tone, describing it as arrogant and narcissistic. According to Okeke, such behavior was uncalled for, especially when directed at someone like Kate Henshaw.

The drama has since stirred debate online, with netizens divided on whether Jim Iyke’s message was out of line or simply misunderstood.

Gideon wrote:

“Somebody take a look at this Motherfukka over here. It’s the narcissistic effrontery for Me. Such a bone head. 🦴 I wonder who puts these people in check. It’s this kinda rubbish behaviour that people condone, that gives other people the balls to be the actual pri*ks that they are…in real life. 🤷🏽‍♂️Small Boy. Talk anyhow in public. Tueh.”
