“I Own Six Tracks From Wizkid’s 2011 Album ‘Superstar’- Samklef Claims

  • Producer Samklef claims ownership of six songs from Wizkid’s debut album, Superstar.
  • He asserts that the album, released in 2011, was recorded in his studio.
  • Samklef states he was never compensated for the recording sessions.

Producer Samklef has come forward claiming ownership of six songs from Wizkid’s debut album, Superstar.

In a recent post on X, he stated that the 2011 album was recorded in his studio, but he was never compensated for the recording sessions. Samklef also mentioned that no formal contract was signed at the time, and he expressed willingness to reopen negotiations with Banky W, co-founder of Empire Mates Entertainment (EME), the label behind the album.

“Thank God I never used my masters to take any loans. I’m planning to discuss things with Banky W since there was no contract from the start. I hope the Superstar masters were never sold,” Samklef wrote.

He added, “I own six tracks from the masters because Banky didn’t pay for the studio sessions  and I also own the studio where all the songs were recorded.”

It is still uncertain whether Samklef has any legal claim to the tracks or if his statement is solely based on the unpaid recording sessions.

In other news…. Nigerian TikTok personality Habeeb Hamzat, widely recognised as Peller, has released the official trailer for his much-anticipated live streaming tour across the country.

The content creator had earlier revealed in January 2026 that he would be embarking on his first nationwide live streaming tour, scheduled to begin on March 6.

In a teaser video posted online on Wednesday, March 4, Peller who recently made headlines after gifting fellow creator Jarvis a car offered fans a glimpse of what to expect. The clip opens with a dramatic Yoruba-inspired scene, featuring a traditional masquerade in an intense chase sequence.

The trailer stands out for its energetic delivery, rich cultural imagery, and suspense-driven storytelling, quickly drawing reactions from viewers. By fusing contemporary streaming culture with strong traditional themes, the production delivers a visually striking and creative concept.

Earlier information shared by the streamer indicates that the tour will cover more than ten states across Nigeria.

The announced destinations include Ibadan, Ekiti, Ogun, Akwa Ibom, Port Harcourt, Imo, Abia, Abuja, Kaduna, Edo, Ondo, Calabar, Borno, Osun, Enugu, and Ebonyi.

Peller also suggested that additional states could be added in a second phase, depending on logistics and audience response.

Some observers have speculated that the idea may have been influenced by American streamer IShowSpeed, who recently visited several African countries while connecting with fans through live broadcasts.
