- Nollywood actors Yul Edochie and Judy Austin are involved in a controversy.
- Emmanuel Obasi, Judy Austin’s former husband, revealed he warned Yul Edochie in 2022.
- Obasi’s message advised Yul not to let a woman lead to his downfall.

The ongoing controversy involving Nollywood actors Yul Edochie and Judy Austin has taken a new twist following a revelation from her former husband, Emmanuel Obasi, who shared a message he claims to have sent to the actor years ago.
Obasi disclosed that as far back as 2022, he had reached out to Yul with a warning, urging him not to let a woman become his downfall. However, he said the message went unanswered and his advice was ignored.
Now, with the relationship long in the public eye and surrounded by controversy, Obasi believes recent developments have proven his earlier concerns right.
In a strongly worded statement, he explained that he had tried to caution the actor during the early stages of the situation but was met with silence. According to him, he chose to observe events quietly until now, when he felt compelled to speak out, suggesting that Yul stepped into a situation he had previously endured.
He added that he has since moved on and now sees himself as free, while implying that the actor is now facing the consequences of his actions.
“I am free, and he is caged. I warned him,” he said.
Obasi went on to draw a symbolic comparison, stating that just as Joseph assisted Jesus in carrying the cross, Yul had effectively taken over the burden from him. He noted, however, that while one act was done with sincerity, the other lacked genuine intention.
The analogy added a dramatic layer to his remarks, as he suggested that the actress knowingly entered a complicated situation and must now deal with its consequences.
He concluded by hinting that he remains grateful for how things have unfolded, expressing relief that he is no longer involved in the situation.
