Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has revealed that she nearly became a pastor at the age of 19, shedding light on her long-standing spiritual journey during a viral livestream interview that followed her recent reconciliation with ex-husband Olakunle Churchill.
According to Dikeh, she has felt a divine calling since childhood but chose to run away from it as a teenager, believing God wanted her to experience life fully before stepping into her mandate. She explained that her continued survival through intense personal trials is rooted in faith and divine purpose.
“I have always had this calling right from when I was a child. At 19, I was going to be a pastor until I just ran away for no reason,” she said, noting that she has remained deeply involved in church life since leaving secondary school.
The actress described her life journey as extraordinary, insisting that only divine intervention enabled her to overcome challenges that might have destroyed others. She believes those experiences were necessary to shape her into who she is today.
Dikeh further disclosed that her calling centres on prayer and healing, hinting at plans to launch an online prayer platform if she receives clear divine approval. She stressed that her spiritual work is not motivated by money, fame, or status, but by obedience to God.
“At this stage of my life, I’m just letting God lead. I’m just a vessel,” she said, adding that her return to faith was driven by survival and a desire to live, not material gain.
The mother of one also referenced past struggles with anger, smoking, alcoholism, and other personal battles, which she says God has helped her overcome.
