“How Banky W and his friend initiated my personal cancel culture in 2012”- Samklef spills why the industry is quiet on Mohbad’s death

Samklef, a Nigerian musician and songwriter, has revealed how singer Banky W and a pal started his own “cancel culture” back in 2012.

After Mohbad passed away, Samklef stated why many top musicians and executives from record labels are keeping quiet about the singer’s loss.

While many of them are conscious of their own role, he asserted that they weren’t as violent as Naira Marley despite their awareness.

With a friend who worked in Soundcity, he discussed his interaction with Banky W, who he claimed was the catalyst for the cancel culture.

While making fun of Banky W’s pastoral calling, Samklef pushed his coworkers to share their genuine experiences.

“Banky W the individual who initiated my personal cancel culture in 2012. And one of his friends in Soundcity… He is now a pastor lol. Fellow artists, it’s time to share your genuine experiences! Don’t hesitate! The reason many of them remain quiet about this matter is that they are aware of their own involvement. They were not just violent like Naira Marley” he said

Taking to the comment section, many agreed with him, while others criticized him for how long it had been since the music producer had released a good record.

Onile Owo wrote, “That is exactly what I am thinking because I can’t imagine how an industry, that is full well performing artists. Just keep quiet if not for Gistlover, Iyabo Ojo, King Tonto, and Samklef all this Justice4Mohbad could have been things of the last, but know that God is greater than them all. They will surely pay for it one day.

Sir Raji wrote, “I agree with Samklef on this. Has anyone ever thought about it, why Wizkid never had anything to do with Banky W ever since he left the record label? To the extent, Wiz did not attend his own boss’s marriage.

Kazeem Titilayo wrote, “SMH. I figured the silence is extreme

Drex Cater wrote, “We the upcoming needs to go harder or go home cos the egbon adugbos for the industry minds too dark

Omo Isafe wrote, “Oga nobody cancelled you. You haven’t released any good music after your album. Stop blaming others, get back in the studio, and stop crying like a baby

Coco Blanc wrote, “I knew it!! All these big names in the industry are quiet for a reason!! They are doing the worst things in the industry!! It’s a shame humanity doesn’t play a role anymore*
