A 38-year-old man, Victor Antwi, is on the run after allegedly setting multiple homes ablaze in the Ahodwo High Tension area of Kumasi, Ghana, following the end of his relationship with his 25-year-old girlfriend, Gladys Sarfowaah.
Reports indicate that Gladys ended the relationship due to persistent threats and abusive behavior, including incidents involving a firearm.
Seizing the opportunity while many men in the area were out watching a UEFA Champions League match, Victor reportedly entered Gladys’ residence and started a fire that quickly spread, engulfing nearby homes and leaving several families homeless.
Despite efforts by firefighters, the blaze caused significant destruction before it was finally brought under control.
The Ghana Police Service has launched a search for Victor and is urging anyone with relevant information to assist in his arrest.
