Veteran Nigerian entertainer Charly Boy has shared a heartwarming story about Labour Party leader Peter Obi that has sparked fresh conversations online about leadership, integrity, and accountability.
Speaking in a recent podcast clip, Charly Boy recounted how Peter Obi showed up at his house as early as 5 a.m. in September 2025, carrying a sack Charly Boy initially assumed contained money. According to him, Obi spent about two hours discussing politics, family, and the state of the nation.
Curious after the visit, Charly Boy decided to check the sack—only to discover it was filled with farm produce. Inside were garden eggs, roasted groundnuts, alligator peppers, kola nuts, pawpaw, oranges, mangoes, and bananas, all reportedly harvested from Obi’s farm.
Charly Boy said Obi later explained his gesture simply: “Senior, I no fit give you money, but I fit give you this one, na my hand pick.”
The revelation deeply impressed the entertainer, who said the act increased his respect for Obi.
