Gunmen kill 4, abduct 18 in Sokoto village – Police Comfirms

Sokoto police Command has confirmed the banditry attack in Giyawa village of Goronyo local government area in the eastern senatorial district where four persons were confirmed dead.

 Assistant Superintendent of Police Ahmed Rufai, the public relations officer for the Sokoto state police command, revealed to Vanguard that the assailants had kidnapped 18 other people in addition to livestock and other valuables.

According to the statement, seven of the earlier kidnapped individuals managed to elude their kidnappers and return to their town, where many residents had already left for safety.

Although other impacted community sources asserted that over thirty people had been kidnapped, the police insisted that just eleven of them were still with the assailants.

The police were on, he claimed that the police were on the trail of the assailants and are making efforts to ensure normalcy  restored in the affected  community.
