Gulder Ultimate Search vs Big Brother Naija

Do we say goodbye to the Big Brother Naija reality show, as One of Nigeria’s most popular reality TV show, Gulder Ultimate Search is back.

The Gulder Ultimate Search is a show known for strength, determination, task as well as it good story lines. Little wonder the new edition was widely accepted with the reports revealing that approximately 20,000 individual showed interest to be a part of this year’s edition.

This means the short break from the reality TV show had never affected its popularity. Recall that the show had been put on hold since 2014, which is close to seven years. It had previously had an 11-season run from 2004 to 2014 and was regarded as Search, Nigeria’s first reality TV show.

The Gulder Ultimate Search is expected to win back the heart of Nigerians as the new edition is about to start and a look at the trend on social media have shown that viewers can’t wait for the show to commence.

Over the weekend, the organizers of the reality show unveiled 20 contestants that would partake in the 2021 edition, however of the 20 contestants only 16 have been transferred to the jungle where the show would take place; the other four were placed on wild card, which is a new twist on the show.

This was made known by the show host and actor, Gideon Okeke who happens to be one of the winners from the previous editions of the show.

The contestants were selected from different parts of Nigeria and the names of the 16 contestants that made it to the jungle are Adewale Adedamola Thompson, Chidinma Okeibe, Damilola Odedina, Emmanuel Nnebe, Estima Edem, Gerald Odeka, Tosin Eniola, Umorean Iniabasi, Jennifer Okorie, Mfom Mikel Essien, Tubuchukwu, and Olayinka Omeya, Omokhafe Racheal, Solomon Yankari, Opeyemi Ishmael, and Orevapghene Godswill.

The names of the four contestants placed on wild card are Samson Abah, Odudu Otu, Shalom Omoikhudu, and Osasere Ogbanile.

The reports revealed that one of the contestants placed on wild card would be returned based on the viewers’ votes which began at 12 am on Monday and would run for 24 hours.

The Gulder Ultimate Search for 2021 is scheduled to commence on Saturday, October 16, and end on Sunday, December 19, 2021.

Viewers can watch the show on;

Africa Magic Showcase (DStv channel 151), Africa Magic Urban (DStv channel 153) and Africa Magic Family (DStv channel 154 & GOtv channel 2).

The show will be air on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 pm till 9 pm.

The show organisers also revealed that there will be a weekly episode recaps and special commentary editions on Thursdays.

The winner for this year will go home with a grand prize of N50 million. This year’s edition is known as The Age of Craftsmanship.

Over the years since its commencement, the Gulder Ultimate Search has discovered several talents who have gone to become stars in the entertainment industry. Some of them are; Kunle Remi who won the 2010 edition, Dennis Okike who won the season 8 edition and Chris Okagbue who emerge the winner for season 10 edition.
