A grieving Nigerian widow has taken to social media to share her distressing experience after being thrown out of her home just 10 days following her husband’s death.
The incident was brought to light in a post by X (formerly Twitter) user @ChuksEricE, who shared a video clip of the woman recounting her ordeal.
According to her, she and her late husband had spent millions of naira on medical treatment in a desperate attempt to save his life, but he sadly did not survive.
In the aftermath of his passing, her in-laws reportedly tried to sell his property, a decision she opposed.
Tragically, while she was away taking her son to school, she received a phone call informing her that the roof of her home had been dismantled and her belongings were thrown out—leaving her and her child without shelter.
In her own words: “Since my husband fell sick, no one helped him; we suffered. We spent a lot of money, almost ₦12.8 million on his treatment. We did not sell the land. Ten days after his death, they removed everything from my house. I had gone to buy something and taken my son to school when I got the call. When I rushed home, I saw all my belongings outside.”
