Founder of the Isaac Oyedepo Evangelistic Ministries, Pastor Isaac Oyedepo, has announced that his ministry will not be collecting offerings during its services, saying the decision followed a direct instruction from God.
In a video message shared online, the cleric explained that the core focus of his ministry is discipleship and spiritual growth, not financial contributions. According to him, his mandate is centered on building believers through the Word of God and equipping them to follow Christ sincerely.
“God gave me specific instructions not to collect offerings,” Oyedepo said.
He noted that while offering collection is common and acceptable in many churches, his assignment is different and must remain aligned with God’s direction.
The announcement comes ahead of the commencement of the ministry’s weekly Sunday services in Abuja. Oyedepo said the services are designed to foster spiritual maturity and consistent engagement with Scripture.
Explaining the foundation of his approach, Oyedepo cited the early ministry of Jesus Christ as his model.
“All Jesus did during his early ministry was to make disciples; the fire fell, and they were filled and refilled. Before He left, He commanded us to do the same,” he stated.
He added that the strength of the Church depends on how deeply believers are rooted in the Word, questioning how spiritually healthy congregations would be if members were truly grounded in Scripture.
Isaac Oyedepo, born on February 26, 1985, launched his independent ministry in November 2023 after years of service at Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel, founded by his father, Bishop David Oyedepo.
