Funke Akindele’s newest film, Behind the Scenes, has shattered records internationally, emerging as the highest-earning Nollywood release in the United Kingdom and Ireland with £159,000 in box office revenue. The movie has also topped charts in the United States and Canada, bringing in $249,000.
With a staggering ₦2.7 billion already collected in West Africa, the film now ranks among the most successful Nollywood productions ever.
FilmOne Entertainment, which distributed the movie, hailed Akindele’s accomplishment as a historic moment for African cinema. They emphasized that the film’s impressive performance not only marks a financial milestone but also demonstrates Nollywood’s expanding global influence.
On Instagram, FilmOne Entertainment shared:

The distributor added that the movie’s success underscores the universal appeal of African storytelling, highlighting how narratives infused with humor, cultural insight, struggles, and triumphs resonate with global audiences.
