Members of the Indigenous people of Biafra(IPOB) on Sunday, ambushed the governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano at a Church service in the state.
IPOB members flocked the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ekwulobia, disrupting a live sermon with chants of ‘No election in Anambra on November 18’.
A reliable source told Gistlover.com , “Governor Obiano had gone to the church to worship, only to be embarrassed by IPOB members in their hundreds, if not thousands, who stormed the church in their bus-loads, chanting ‘No election in Anambra on November 18. The Governor had to be smuggled out by his security details,”.
The incident occurred around noon. This development is coming shortly after Governor Obiano dared IPOB, declaring that the group cannot stop the election in which he is seeking another four-year term.
IPOB Leader Nnamdi Kanu had earlier decreed that the election will not hold but security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have insisted that the ballot will go ahead as scheduled.
