Former Appointee Reveals How Former President Rawlings Was Never Ready To Leave Power

Former President, Jerry John Rawlings, former appointee has disclosed that the former president was never ready to leave power but was also a listening leader.

Kwamena Ahwoi who was the former Minister for Local Government and Rural Development explained that it took some great deals before convincing for President Rawlings to transit Ghana into a constitutional rule.

The former minister revealed that the former head of state is someone who will not tell you that he agrees with your position on idea because of his military background he not let you know he agree.

According to Kwamena Ahwoi, Rawlings will create impression that he is sticking to his position but the next day he will come around your position.

He indicated that it was a good part of the former head of state.

Professor Ahwoi said that when dealing with him about transiting the state into Constitutional rule it took a greet deal because he was not ready to let go power.

He however stated that he give credit to the former president for handing power and ask credit to Kojo Tsikata and late Justice DF Annan for convincing him.

Transiting the country into a constitutional rule took place in 1992 and he spent 12 years as military leader and 8 years as civilian leader.
