The Federal Government hosted a grand Presidential dinner on Monday night at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja to celebrate the Super Falcons following their historic 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) triumph.

The event featured electrifying performances from top Nigerian music stars, including Flavour, Teni, Timi Dakolo, and Fido, who thrilled the victorious team with memorable entertainment.

Earlier in the day, the Super Falcons were officially received at the Presidential Banquet Hall by President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu. During the reception, the president conferred National Honours on the players and rewarded each of them with $100,000.

Additionally, President Tinubu announced the gift of three-bedroom apartments at the Renewed Hope Estate for each player, while members of the technical crew were awarded $50,000 each.

The Super Falcons clinched their 10th WAFCON title on Saturday, July 26, with an impressive 3–2 comeback victory over host nation Morocco in a thrilling final at the Stade Olympique in Rabat.

In other news, Reality TV star and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tuoyo Ideh, has opened up about the stigma attached to being openly affectionate in today’s dating culture.

Sharing his thoughts via Instagram Stories, Tuoyo expressed disappointment over how society now views emotional expression. He wrote:

“This generation has made being called a lover boy or lover girl look like a sin or a bad thing.”
