- FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has admitted he is not cut out to be a pastor, urging Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno to continue praying for him.
- Wike praised Eno’s humility and spiritual calling, while advising him to embrace forgiveness as a mark of strength in leadership

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has admitted he is unsure he could ever become a pastor.
Speaking at a road commissioning in Akwa Ibom, he urged Governor Umo Eno to keep praying for him, noting he doesn’t have the pastoral calling.
Wike also advised the governor to embrace forgiveness in leadership, describing it as a sign of strength.
“Continue to do good, forgiveness is not a weak point, rather it’s strength. It doesn’t matter what happens, relate with people who have helped you before, it does not mean that you are weak but you have taken a decision to move Akwa Ibom forward and that’s the decision that I will continue to support you,” Wike said.
Wike, in his characteristic candour, admitted that while Governor Eno has been called to minister God’s word, he himself does not share the same grace.
He said: “But all those you relate with, continue to give them their respect, you are a humble man, you are a man of God and allow those of us… the truth is that me, I don’t know if I can be a pastor.
“It takes a man of strong character and continue to pray for me because God has given it to you, but me, I will continue to support you.
“So, you that God said you should be praying, pray while I will continue to support you. The politics I believe is that you do for me, I do for you, you fall for me, I fall for you.”
