- The Distraught father claimed that information available to him is that his son’s Commander and Okeke conspired, took his son to an unknown destination and sold him for organ harvesting.
- Nwosu said the vigilante group failed to report the incident to any authority, further casting doubt on their version of events.

Chief Benjamin Nwosu, a father from Umuokeh, Imo State, has accused the Commander of the Anambra Vigilante Group (AVG), known as “Mr. White,” and his son’s friend, Chidera Okeke, of trafficking his son, Ekene Valentine Benjamin, for organ harvesting.
Ekene, who worked with the AVG in Anambra for three years, went missing on August 9, 2024, during an alleged field operation. The vigilante group claimed he disappeared during a clash with gunmen, but Nwosu dismissed that account, insisting it was a cover-up.
Nwosu petitioned the Anambra Commissioner of Police in September 2024. Despite police involvement, he claims there’s been no significant progress or accountability from the AVG.
Nwosu claimed that information available to him is that his son’s Commander and Okeke conspired, took his son to an unknown destination and sold him for organ harvesting.
“This insinuation that my son went missing when they went for an operation is false,” Nwosu told SaharaReporters.
“Because when we got to the Deputy Commissioner of Police on October 10, 2024, asked the liaison officer of the vigilante group, ‘where did they report the incident’. The liaison officer said they didn’t report the incident anywhere.”
Nwosu said the Deputy Commissioner expressed disbelief and immediately ordered them to search for his son.
He said, The Deputy Commissioner of Police told them that any incident that happens in that state, everybody will be aware of it. He ordered them to go and search for my son.”
According to Nwosu, “The information I got was that Okpompi and the vigilante group commander at Ukpor who identified his name as White, and Chidera were the ones who arranged and took my son to an unknown destination and he never came back till date.”
He further alleged that when the family requested Ekene’s corpse, the group claimed it could not be found.
“They claimed they went for an operation but others came back but my son didn’t come back. We have asked for his corpse but they said they didn’t see the corpse,” Nwosu said.
“They just decided to be lying,” he added.
“Okpompi claimed they were paying his salary, where did they get my account number. Who gave him the account number?
“He is saying I should go to Abuja or to hell while they deliberately took him away and sold for organ harvesting.”
Nwosu said the vigilante group failed to report the incident to any authority, further casting doubt on their version of events.
He said, “They didn’t go anywhere for any operation. They lied. They never reported the matter anywhere. The Deputy Commissioner of Police asked them that day and they couldn’t even answer the questions.
“Till date they have not taken any action, rather, Okpompi is saying I should go to hell or wherever I want to go. He lied that I never cooperated with them.”
AVG General Commandant Okpompi confirmed Ekene’s disappearance but blamed Nwosu for not cooperating. He denied any wrongdoing, claiming Ekene might have joined the gunmen or been killed.
Okeke, who introduced Ekene to the group, denied involvement in organ trafficking but admitted trying to intervene with Ekene’s property after his disappearance. Ekene’s sister accused Okeke of attempting to steal the belongings before being confronted.
The family continues to demand a full investigation, alleging a deliberate attempt by the AVG to conceal the truth about Ekene’s fate.
