Plans have been announced for the final burial rites of late gospel singer Bunmi Akinnaanu, as family, friends, and colleagues prepare to lay the revered worship minister to rest.
Akinnaanu passed away on January 12 after a prolonged struggle with a severe leg ailment, a condition that had drawn widespread concern and prayers from fans and members of the gospel music community. Months before her passing, she had openly sought prayers and healing while battling the illness.
The burial arrangements were made public by fellow gospel singer Alayo Melody, who shared a flier outlining the programme of events via Instagram on Friday.
According to the schedule, activities will commence on Tuesday, January 20, with a service of songs at the LTV 8 Ground, Ikeja, Lagos. This will be followed by a candlelight procession at 7pm and a tribute and artistes’ night at 8pm on the same day.
The interment service is scheduled for Wednesday, January 21, and will be held privately for family members and close associates, according to the family.
