Nollywood actress Faithia Williams is showing incredible strength just a week after losing her mother.

In the midst of her personal grief, Faithia remains committed to her professional endeavors, sharing her thoughts on coping with loss publicly.

On Instagram, she posted a series of images accompanied by heartfelt reflections on the emotional weight of her mother’s passing. She described grief as something that “sits on your chest,” affecting even the simplest moments of life, while affirming her resolve to keep moving forward.

“My mother is gone… and I haven’t even laid her to rest yet. Every day since her passing has felt heavy the calls, the condolences, the quiet moments when reality sinks in. Grief doesn’t wait for readiness; it just sits on your chest. I could have stayed away. I could have mourned in silence. But I chose to rise for my mother, for my legacy, for this story,” she wrote.

Faithia also reflected on her first cinematic project, EFUNROYE: THE UNICORN, describing it as a dream she nurtured for years and a story she was determined to bring to life.

“I am Faithia Williams Balogun, and this project is purpose brought to life on screen. EFUNROYE: THE UNICORN marks my cinematic debut, a dream I’ve carried for years. It’s a story I fought to tell, a legacy I am committed to honouring. Long before Lagos became an empire… before power was forged in palaces… there was a name synonymous with influence: EFUNROYE. The Unicorn. Merchant. Legend. Kingmaker.”

She emphasized that her public appearances and work are more than professional duties they are acts of resilience and a tribute to her family’s legacy.

“I am grieving. I am hurting. Yet I am standing. Life doesn’t pause. Purpose doesn’t vanish. Strength often appears when we least expect it. When you see me promoting this film, know that it’s not just publicity. It is resilience. It is a daughter pushing through heartbreak to keep a promise to herself and to her mother.”

Through her candid reflections, Faithia Williams offers a poignant glimpse into how grief and determination can coexist, demonstrating the courage required to continue pursuing purpose despite profound loss.
