Nollywood actress Oluwakemisola Apesin, popularly known as Kemity, has responded to allegations suggesting that she climbed the ladder in the movie industry through sexual favors.
Taking to her Instagram page, the actress firmly dismissed the claims, stating that her achievements are purely the result of dedication and relentless effort.
Kemity looked back on her journey in Nollywood by sharing throwback photos and recounting how she started her career. According to her, she has never traded her body for roles or opportunities, stressing that every milestone she has reached came through honest work.
Before venturing fully into acting, she revealed that she ran two wine shops and also worked as a receptionist at Masters Hotel in Ayobo. She explained that these jobs helped her stay financially independent while chasing her dream in the film industry.
The actress added that she took time to build herself by acquiring different skills, including acting and makeup artistry. These abilities not only strengthened her craft but also allowed her to contribute to film productions and earn a living.
Kemity maintained that her progress in Nollywood has been shaped by discipline, resilience, and the strong values instilled in her by her family.
Now a proud mother of two daughters, she advised aspiring actresses to avoid being swayed by shortcuts or empty promises. She encouraged them to believe in their talent and remain consistent, emphasizing that hard work and determination are sufficient to achieve success.
She wrote: “Throw back Thursday There is something I need to clear respectfully. Nobody should let anyone deceive them because of social media noise. I have never used my body to collect a movie role. I have never slept with anyone to get featured in any film.
“I have never exchanged s*x for opportunity. Before I even met my boss, I already had two wine shops where I was selling wine.
“I have always worked for my money. I am a mother. I have two daughters I am raising and training with dignity and strong values. I cannot build their future on something dirty. Everything I am today is my sweat. Everything I have achieved is hard work and God’s grace.”
