Esther Okoronkwo has been crowned the Super Falcons’ Fans’ Player of the Tournament at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after an exceptional campaign.
The 27-year-old forward delivered a standout performance, scoring two goals and providing six assists in six matches, earning her two Woman of the Match awards.
The Super Falcons announced her win on their official X (formerly Twitter) page, writing: “Presenting your #WAFCON2024 Fans’ Player of the Tournament… Esther Okoronkwo, OON. Clutch. Composed. Crowned by the people.”
Okoronkwo triumphed over fellow nominees Rasheedat Ajibade, Folashade Ijamilusi, Ashleigh Plumptre, Chiwendu Ihezuo, and Jennifer Echegini.
Her achievement capped off a successful campaign for Nigeria, who sealed a thrilling 3-2 victory over Morocco in the WAFCON 2024 final.
