Nollywood star and filmmaker Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde lit up Lagos on Sunday, March 1, 2026, as she hosted an elaborate premiere for her latest project, A Mother’s Love, in the upscale Ikoyi district.
The glamorous event drew an impressive lineup of distinguished guests, reflecting the actress’ strong influence both within and beyond the entertainment industry.
Among the prominent figures captured in clips circulating online were former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, businessman Jowi Zaza, celebrated actresses Sola Sobowale and Ruth Kadiri, ex-Senator Dino Melaye, and media personality Denrele Edun. Their presence added prestige and excitement to the evening.
Omotola’s husband, Captain Matthew Ekeinde, was also by her side, showing his unwavering support during the special occasion.
However, the most touching moment of the night came when the actress received an unexpected surprise from her second daughter, Meraiah. Despite being out of the country, Meraiah secretly traveled back home to attend the premiere.
A widely shared video captured the emotional scene as she entered the venue, made her way backstage where her mother, her elder sister, and former President Obasanjo were gathered, and warmly greeted them leaving Omotola visibly moved by the heartfelt gesture.
