Favour Ugwuka, a final-year student at Ebonyi State University, allegedly committed suicide because a lecturer failed her repeatedly.
According to the report, Favour was found dead on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, beside her hostel on the university’s Ishieke Campus in Abakaliki. She allegedly ingested a hazardous chemical believed to be a sharpshooter.
According to a leaked voice note, the English Department student states that despite passing all of her classes with distinction, she continued to fail a certain subject in which the professor had promised she would never pass.
In a video posted online, the dead mother can be seen regretting and accusing a lecturer of causing her daughter to commit suicide.
“Dr Enyi said he is the best, that nobody can teach like him. He should come and carry my daughter who has committed suicide,” she said.
