Drama Unfolds as Usher Fan Sues Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco for ₦30B Over False Marriage Claims

  • The lawsuit arises from remarks made on the duo’s podcast regarding a widely circulated video of Tillman and Usher sharing a lighthearted, flirtatious moment during his April 2, 2025 concert.
  • This legal action follows closely on the heels of Sharpe’s recent $50 million settlement in a separate matter and his reported departure from ESPN.

Jimalita Tillman, a prominent cultural executive and fan of R&B superstar Usher, has reportedly filed a $20 million defamation lawsuit against sports media personalities Shannon Sharpe and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson.

The lawsuit arises from remarks made on the duo’s podcast regarding a widely circulated video of Tillman and Usher sharing a lighthearted, flirtatious moment during his April 2, 2025 concert.

According to the court filing, Sharpe and Johnson falsely claimed on their show that Tillman was married and that her alleged husband was seeking a divorce because of the incident. Tillman, who serves as the global director of the Harold Washington Cultural Center and is a single mother of one, asserts that she is not married and that the statements were entirely untrue.

The complaint alleges that the false narrative has caused reputational harm, emotional distress, and could have lasting consequences on both her personal and professional life.

This legal action follows closely on the heels of Sharpe’s recent $50 million settlement in a separate matter and his reported departure from ESPN.
