Drama as Men Fights over a Lady in Taraba.
It has been reportedly gathered that properties worth millions of naira in Taraba State has been racked by some individuals who angrily fought each other to win a lady’s love.
This new forum understands that one person was killed during the fight which broke out around the Waterboard area of Jalingo, the state capital.
It was reported that the chaos began after one of the men paid hoodlums to attack the other, while in his defense, the other summoned his friends to assist in fighting back. However, the chaos which is said to have degenerated to religion crisis was calmed down after security operatives stormed the area.
On his part, while given details of the incident, one Malam Salihu, a bread baker said;
“This incident started four days ago as a minor scuffle without notice. It then degenerated into a fight between youths of two communities over a lady.
“It later became a religious fight between Christian and Muslim youths. They broke my doors and windows, but fortunately, security operatives arrived and took control of the situation and that is why I am here to pack what is left of my bakery.”
Also, an eyewitness who gave his name as Ezekiel Ali revealed that one of the victims was injured with gunshot on his body during the fight.
He said;
“Although I am not a specialist, from what I saw, one of the victims was hit by bullets because we saw holes in his body.”
On his part, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Azare visited the scene of the incident defamed the fight and disclosed also that only one person was murdered during the crisis. He, however, revealed that the police were able to make a few arrests in connection with the crisis.
“From the report gathered by my men on the ground, only one person was confirmed killed with many injured and receiving treatment at the hospital,” Azare noted.
