Content creator Izzy Ogbeide has openly criticized activist and media figure VeryDarkMan (VDM), accusing him of reporting her YouTube video for copyright infringement.
Izzy explained that her video featured a clip from VDM’s content, which allegedly led to a copyright strike and eventual removal by YouTube after his report.
In her outburst, she branded VDM a manipulator and claimed that, like many creators, his actions are fueled by money. To back her claims, she released a voice note from 2023, in which VDM had reportedly asked for her guidance on monetizing his social media platforms something she had earlier advised him on. She described his recent action as a betrayal considering their past exchanges.
Responding to the allegations, VDM issued a lengthy statement where he denied personally targeting her. According to him, YouTube’s copyright enforcement system automatically flagged the video because it contained his intellectual property. He accused Izzy of spreading falsehoods and resorting to blackmail following the takedown.
He further clarified that while he often allows free use of his content on Facebook, he has consistently warned creators not to upload his videos on YouTube due to the platform’s strict copyright rules. Despite this, many still misuse his content.
Addressing claims that he was selfish, VDM highlighted the financial burdens that come with his advocacy work, noting that he remains in debt despite his social media income. He insisted that his priority is social justice rather than chasing clout.
VDM also suggested that Izzy’s online rants stemmed from his refusal to give her the recognition or closeness she sought.
Unimpressed by his remarks, Izzy fired back with a series of posts and videos on social media, further dragging the activist.
