Nollywood actress and humanitarian Tonto Dikeh has shared a thought-provoking message on Instagram, encouraging people to apply wisdom and stay committed to their financial goals rather than relying solely on spiritual efforts.
In her post, Tonto advised her followers to avoid wasting time on fasting and prayers when the solution to their problem lies in acquiring knowledge and practical steps.
She emphasized the importance of never taking one’s source of income for granted, pointing out that while love can come and go, hunger is a constant that affects everyone.
She wrote, “Never joke with your sources of income. Love may come and go, but hunger visits every day. So take your hustle seriously every single day because you’ll never stop paying bills in this world.
Don’t waste time fasting and praying about something you need knowledge to solve. “
Her post resonated with many fans who praised her for blending spirituality with common sense, while others noted how timely her advice was in today’s economic climate.
In other news, Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Solade is currently under fire online after a video surfaced of him comparing his acting journey to that of legendary actor Pete Edochie.
In the viral clip, Yemi reflected on his early career, claiming that while Pete Edochie may be older in age, he actually entered the movie industry before him.
He stated that he was already active in the arts at a very young age and even represented Nigeria at Festac ’77 when he was just 17, emphasizing that he has spent 48 years in the entertainment industry and remains relevant to this day.
Solade also weighed in on the origins of Nollywood’s home video era, attributing the first production to Ade Ajiboye, not the more widely credited figures.
He further claimed that many Yoruba actors were too focused on their craft to chase media attention, which is why there’s a lack of recognition for their contributions.
“We were more interested in acting than in showing off or seeking credit,” he said, taking a subtle jab at some of his colleagues.
His remarks, particularly the comparison with Pete Edochie, sparked mixed reactions online, with many fans criticizing what they saw as disrespect toward an industry icon. Others argued that his points might hold weight but were poorly delivered.
