  • He condemned the practice of placing women in difficult financial situations to gauge their loyalty.
  • The pastor’s message has gained significant attention and sparked debate on gender dynamics and relationship expectations.

A Nigerian pastor has sparked debate online after condemning men who attempt to measure a woman’s love through poverty or unrealistic tests.

In a widely shared message, the clergyman criticised men who intentionally put women in difficult financial situations to see if they remain loyal.

He said:

“I want a woman who loves me for who I am. Imagine looking for someone to marry and testing her with just three cups of rice. Are we going backward?”

He added: “If you have 50 million, invest it and empower her. Don’t test a woman with poverty. Two weeks ago, you gave her ₦10k and now question her love? How can ₦10k sustain a person? Love needs resources to flourish.”

The pastor emphasised that love should not be measured by how much hardship a woman can endure, highlighting that financial responsibility is essential in creating a strong, stable relationship.

Many social media users agreed with his perspective, pointing out that some men use “loyalty tests” as an excuse to avoid accountability. Others, however, argued that genuine love should not rely solely on money, resulting in mixed reactions online.

In a brief but heartfelt statement shared publicly, the woman described the harsh reality of living alone in her compound, noting that the silence and isolation have become overwhelming with time.

Speaking candidly about her situation, she said, “I want somebody to come to me. I don’t want to be sleeping and living alone.”

The woman further expressed the emotional toll of her condition, stating, “I’m tired of living alone guys, let me say the truth and let the devil be ashamed. See my compound, only me.”

Her remarks have resonated with many, drawing attention to the challenges faced by older individuals who live without close family or support systems. For many in similar situations, loneliness often stems from widowhood, separation, or children relocating elsewhere.
