  • Relying solely on a partner for financial support can lead to issues during marital disagreements.

A young mother is urging single women to secure a stable source of income before tying the knot.

Drawing from her own experiences, she cautioned that relying entirely on a spouse financially can create problems during disagreements in a marriage.

“Don’t enter marriage without having your own work or income. No matter how supportive your partner is, there could come a time when you disagree, and he might withhold money or use it to demean you,” she explained.

Reflecting on her past decisions, the mother admitted that she would prioritize earning money before getting married if given another chance.

“My current financial situation makes it hard for me to support my family. Being the first daughter, I have many responsibilities. My mother is facing difficulties right now, and I just can’t assist her the way I want,” she said.

She also shared that money troubles have strained her relationship with her siblings, as she worries about requests for financial help that she cannot fulfill.

“For some time now, I haven’t even spoken to my siblings. I worry that if they ask me for money, they won’t understand my situation and will think I’m being selfish,” she added.

The mother advised single women to prioritize financial independence before marriage: “If you’re single, take this seriously. Discover your purpose and work on earning for yourself. Don’t rely on the idea that you’ll thrive financially in marriage. It’s much easier to build financial stability before having children.”
