Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire is warning fans about the dangers of pushing too hard for a “perfect body,” especially when it compromises health.
The actress, known for her light complexion, shared a personal experience on Instagram that served as a cautionary tale. She revealed that months of strict dieting nearly caused her to faint during a meeting because her body was completely exhausted.
Peggy recounted her ordeal:
“I’ve been on a diet since November last year. I achieved the weight I wanted, and everything was going well. Then February arrived nonstop filming, fasting, very little sleep, and low energy levels.”
She described the alarming incident:
“During a meeting, I was fully focused, explaining things confidently for about 20 minutes. Suddenly, everything went blurry. I thought my eyes were just adjusting, but then I started seeing double. I quietly sat on the floor pride doesn’t matter. Luckily, there were only three people around, and they quickly brought me water like a pit crew in an emergency.”
Peggy’s advice to those watching their weight or fasting is straightforward:
“Whether you’re dieting or fasting, try not to overexert yourself. Your body isn’t a machine you can overload. Health comes first, even before a ‘hot body.’ Life doesn’t wait, so take care of yourself. May God bless our hustle.”
Her message is clear: looking good is important, but nothing should come at the cost of your well-being.
