Nigerian media figure Kayode Ojuolape, popularly known as Do2dtun, has shared his thoughts after Nigeria’s disappointing exit from the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles were eliminated by host nation Morocco, losing 4–2 in a penalty shootout after a tense 120 minutes in Rabat.

Much of the post-match conversation, however, focused on the performance of Ghanaian referee Daniel Laryea, who faced significant criticism from Nigerian supporters. Many fans claimed the officiating was biased, suggesting it might have been influenced by Morocco as hosts or by the historic football rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana.

On X (formerly Twitter), Do2dtun expressed his frustration, emphasizing how poor refereeing can undermine a team’s performance.

He wrote:

“Let me also say this; bad officiating depletes performance… your excuse whether they played with less shot on goals or nothing at all; bad officiating kills the morale of a team. They played against everything.”

Do2dtun added that the Super Eagles weren’t just up against Morocco on the pitch they were also contending with hidden challenges that made maintaining focus and confidence extremely difficult.
