Okija, Anambra State – In a bold step towards empowering education and healthcare in the Southeast, De Imperial Philanthropic Family (DIPF) has officially launched the third phase of its scholarship scheme for secondary school students and unveiled a significantly expanded Medical Fund for Indigent Patients during its 2025 Extraordinary Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Okija, Anambra State.
Speaking at the event, the National President of DIPF, High Chief Dr. Sir Darlington Nwabunike (Ichie Eze-Nwakaibeya Ogbabalu Aku N’anwu Ojoto), reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to service and social development. He revealed that the current scholarship phase is a continuation of the 500 Million Naira DIPF Scholarship Initiative, launched in 2023, which aims to enroll 10,000 students across Southeast Nigeria into its life-changing educational support program.
In a further show of humanitarian commitment, Dr. Nwabunike also announced a significant increase in the DIPF Medical Fund for Indigent Patients from an initial 50 Million Naira to 400 Million Naira to address the escalating costs of healthcare in the region. The first round of medical aid under this fund has already been successfully executed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Oraifite.

“We shall keep serving humanity in every way possible.” As part of its continued investment in education, the AGM also witnessed the unveiling of three standard classroom blocks set to commence construction soon in Southeast communities. Dr. Nwabunike remarked.
